About the artist: Carrie Shryock is an artist, illustrator, and a nature lover. She grew up on a farm in the heart of the Midwest, where she spent her childhood picking bouquets of wildflowers and exploring the wide-open prairie under a big cloud filled sky. She finds endless inspiration in the beautiful complexity of the natural world, and the colors of the changing seasons. A former elementary school art teacher, Carrie now works full time as an illustrator, utilizing a variety of media, both traditional and digital. She works from her home studio in Columbia, Missouri.
